Planning a Group Meal? Explore What Da Chick Catering

The group chat has a date. The office has a headcount. Now the food needs a plan. What Da Chick catering brings chicken, ginger rice and shareable sides into the conversation, with a request process that keeps the important details together.

Start with the date and the serving location

Write down your event date, the time food is needed and the number of people you expect. Catering requires at least seven calendar days of advance notice, calculated in Eastern Time. The earliest date available in the form reflects that rule; choosing it still does not guarantee restaurant availability.

Check the branch before planning pickup. Watertown is serving at 1A Crawford Street. Somerville, at 193 Broadway, is Coming Soon. Do not assume the upcoming location can fulfill an event until the team has confirmed the service details.

Understand the minimum and the actual bill

The catering builder has a $500 minimum food subtotal for both location selections. This is the cost of the selected dishes before taxes and any delivery or service fees. It is not an all-inclusive quote, and it is not a per-person package price.

For a planning example, one medium chicken rice platter at $240 plus one large platter at $350 totals $590 in food. That example shows the subtotal calculation, not a recommendation for a particular headcount. The restaurant still confirms availability, final charges and whether your quantities suit the gathering.

Customize each platter, not just the menu line

A medium chicken rice platter is listed for 18–20 servings and requires two or three chicken styles. A large platter is listed for 30 servings and allows one to four styles. These are menu serving guides; guest appetites, side dishes and the rest of the meal still matter.

Choose between What Da Chick Rice, Crispy Chick Rice, Spicy Crispy Chick Rice and Roasted Chick Rice in the catering form. If you choose What Da Chick Rice, select dark or white meat. Every platter includes daikon soup. For multiple platters, review the choices separately so the second platter does not accidentally get the first platter’s assumptions.

Make room for sides

The catering menu includes starters and salads such as Popcorn Chicken, Roasted Chicken Satays, gyoza, House Salad and Seaweed Salad. Check each tray’s description and quantity instead of treating every tray as the same size.

Give the team the details that change the plan

Add the contact name, email, phone number and guest count. Tell us about allergies and any important timing instructions. If you request delivery, include the full address; delivery coverage, availability and fees are confirmed by the restaurant. Do not promise a delivery window to your guests before the team has agreed to it.

For an office, it helps to describe access to the building and who will receive the food. For a party, note when the meal will actually begin. Ask about serving equipment, utensils and setup if they matter to your event. Do not assume those extras are included just because the food is served in trays.

Review, submit and wait for confirmation

Read the itemized summary before sending the request. Check the restaurant, catering date, requested time, quantities, chicken styles and subtotal. Our ordering guide explains the difference between a regular pickup order and a catering request.

After submission, the team reviews the order and gets back to you to confirm details and provide payment instructions. Your order is confirmed after payment is verified. For a planning checklist you can share with a colleague, see group food ideas for parties and office lunches.

Your questions, answered

How early should I request catering?

At least seven calendar days ahead, using Eastern Time. The team still needs to confirm availability for your selected date and requested time.

Does the $500 minimum include taxes and delivery?

No. It is the food subtotal minimum. Applicable taxes and any delivery or service fees are confirmed separately.
