What makes a lunch spot work for you?
Lunch is often squeezed between meetings, errands or an afternoon plan. The useful questions are simple: will this be a sit-down meal or takeout, what will you actually enjoy, and how much time do you have? Check the ordering page before leaving, especially when a meeting sets a firm deadline.
Our Crawford Street location serves dine-in and takeout. Published hours start at 11 AM on weekdays and 11:30 AM on weekends; check the visit section or call for holiday changes. We do not promise a fixed preparation time, so use the pickup estimate provided when you order.
Pick your chicken style
Poached chicken is the soft-textured choice. What Da Chick Rice features dark meat with ginger rice, daikon soup and signature sauce. The White Chick is the white-meat option. Crispy Chicken Rice is for a crunchier bite with sweet chili sauce. Combo Chick Rice combines poached and crispy chicken.
For a different lunch mood, Khao soi Chick Chick brings chicken, curry and egg noodles together. It is a different eating experience from a rice plate: soft noodles, crispy noodles and toppings create contrasting textures. Check the live menu for what is available that day.
For your first order
Start with What Da Chick Rice if you want the core chicken-and-rice experience. Choose Combo Chick Rice if comparing textures sounds more fun than picking just one.
Plan lunch around your part of Watertown
Someone working around Arsenal Street has a different trip to plan from someone spending the morning near Watertown Square. Put 1A Crawford Street into your map app and consider the return journey as well as the trip to lunch. A local address is more useful than a vague promise that everything is nearby.
If you are making a day of it, lunch can follow the Armenian Museum on Main Street or precede a Charles River outing. Keep sightseeing flexible. Confirm each stop’s schedule separately instead of assuming museum hours and restaurant hours match.
Ordering for coworkers is a different job
When lunch involves several people, collect food preferences and dietary questions before opening the ordering page. For a recurring office lunch or a larger group, the catering menu is a better starting point than guessing how many individual plates to buy.
Tell our team the guest count, date and serving plan. Ask which arrangements suit your event and confirm fulfillment details directly. Giving the kitchen a clear brief helps everyone get the meal they expected.
Make the lunch handoff clear
The Watertown branch is the currently serving What Da Chick location for this lunch plan. Our Somerville branch at 193 Broadway is Coming Soon; its hours and pickup availability have not been announced.
If lunch is for an office rather than one person, catering is a separate request process with a $500 food minimum and seven-day advance notice. Read the office and party food checklist before deciding quantities.
