Start with the texture
What Da Chick Rice is the dark-meat plate with ginger rice, daikon soup and What Da Chick sauce. The White Chick uses white meat with fragrant ginger rice, signature sauce and daikon soup. Both give you a way to notice the chicken and rice before moving toward a crispier style.
Crispy Chicken Rice brings fried chicken and sweet chili sauce. Spicy Chick Rice uses crispy chicken with spicy lime seasoning. Roasted Chick Rice pairs roasted chicken with lime tamarind sauce. Texture and sauce are useful differences to compare; you do not have to rank one style above all the others.
Notice what comes with the chicken
Ginger rice is a part of the meal, not just space beside the meat. Daikon soup offers a warm contrast, while the sauce gives each plate another direction. Try a bite before adding more sauce, then adjust to your taste. That keeps your first impression from being only about the condiment.
Combo Chick Rice combines poached and crispy chicken when you want both textures. Our existing khao man gai guide looks more closely at chicken, rice and sauce. Use it when you want to understand the original plate rather than choosing only by a photograph.
There is more than one kind of comfort here
The current full menu also lists Khao soi Chick Chick: Thai curry with chicken, soft and crispy egg noodles and accompaniments including red onion, pickles and lime. Green curry is another option listed on the menu. Read the current descriptions when choosing a dish beyond chicken and rice.
Starter choices and drinks can change the shape of your meal too. Popcorn Chicken is a bite-sized breaded and fried option. If you are ordering for a group, decide whether you want individual plates with a shared side or a separate catering spread. The regular menu and catering tray menu should not be treated as identical lists.
Ask dietary questions before deciding
Da Crispy Tofu is listed as a vegetable option, with ginger rice, daikon soup and sweet-and-sour sauce topped with crushed peanuts. That description is a reason to ask careful questions, not to assume the whole meal is suitable for every restriction. Broth, sauces, toppings and shared preparation matter.
If an allergy is involved, contact the restaurant before ordering. Tell the team the actual restriction, and ask about the complete dish. A customization note is helpful communication, but it is not a guarantee of a particular preparation environment.
Match the menu to the right visit
Our Watertown restaurant is serving at 1A Crawford Street. Somerville at 193 Broadway is Coming Soon, with its own opening and service details still to be announced. Do not assume a current Watertown dish list confirms future availability at the upcoming branch.
For a current pickup plan, use the ordering guide. For a party or office lunch, browse catering, where the platter styles and serving descriptions are listed separately. A favorite individual plate is a good starting idea; a group request still needs quantities, a date and restaurant review.
Your questions, answered
What if I cannot choose between poached and crispy?
Combo Chick Rice combines poached and crispy chicken with rice. Check the current menu and ordering page for availability before placing an order.
Is the catering menu the same as the regular menu?
No. The catering page lists platter sizes, allowed styles and tray quantities separately. Use that page when planning a group request.
